Can’t get home in time for your favorite shows or catch up on everything on your DVR? Well now you can simply take it with you. Missed that last season of The Sopranos? No problem. Now, it’s all available on iTunes.
HBO and Apple recently announced their cooperation to get HBO properties into the hands of fans via iTunes. Since the application has already sold over 150 million episodes of shows, it seems like a logical place for HBO to distribute their products. Plus, the deal coincides with the Sex and the City film hitting theaters, which has fans new and old clamoring for more.
iTunes episodes are compatible with Mac and PC as well as portable devices including the iPod, iPhone and Apple TV. Shows can be purchased individually of “Sex and the City,” "The Wire" and "Flight of the Conchords" priced at $1.99 per episode, while "The Sopranos," "Deadwood" and "Rome" cost $2.99 per episode.
The shows are available in the US, UK, Canada and Germany, though there may be some deviation from country to country. What better way to spend summer than to load up your portable device with all your favorite HBO shows and plop down on the beach to catch up with all your favorite characters. Hang out with Tony Soprano in the lounge or Carrie and the girls in the nightclub; have a shot of whiskey with Al Swearengen or just chill with Bret, Jemaine and the rest of the Conchord crew next to the pool.
With this batch of shows from HBO, iTunes will carry more than 20,000 episodes over 800 shows. If you can’t find what you want in that multitude of entertainment, then you might not be able to find it anywhere. The HBO shows are already available for purchase and download at http://www.iTunes.com.
It's the question on everyone's mind: will you (or have you already) picked up the new 3G iPhone?
