Creative, long a leading maker of home computer audio and video products, breaks out of its mold to bring you the Vado Pocket Video Cam, in pink and silver for both boys and girls. But the Vado isn’t too much of a stretch for Creative, as it connects directly to the PC via a built-in USB port.
The Vado Pocket Video Cam is all about portability. At only 3.9” x 2.2” x 0.6” it’s smaller than many mobile phones and is capable of VGA (640x480 pixel) quality video. With the internal 2GB of space you can store up to 2 hours of good quality or 1 hour of excellent quality MPEG-4 AVI video on the unit. The battery, with an expected life of 130 minutes per full charge, should give you enough time to both record and check some of your videos. Once you’ve got your video, you can quickly plug the Vado Pocket Video Cam into any USB port on your PC and quickly share those videos with your friends via YouTube and Photobucket.
The easy-to-use interface and 2” LCD screen make capturing videos a breeze. The one-button recording means you will never miss any action, and the lowlight capabilities and 2X zoom help to get the perfect shot every time. The unit even charges from your USB port, so there’s no need to carry around extra batteries or a charger. Creative has announced that there will be accessories coming soon for the Vado Pocket Video Cam, including an external charger, carrying cases and cables to plug it into most televisions.
The $99.99 MSRP package comes complete with everything you need and is compatible with Windows XP SP2, Vista and Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later. The Vado Pocket Video Cam is simple and small for the ultimate in portability. If you don’t want to carry around something bigger than your pockets, then this low-cost unit might be the perfect solution for those holidays when you don’t want to carry around bulkier options.
It's the question on everyone's mind: will you (or have you already) picked up the new 3G iPhone?
