The rubberized clamshell MOTOACTV W450 is perfect for those excursions into the wild areas or when you’re doing your morning jog before the streets fill with cars and the air stagnates with smog. A chin bar allows you to mount the unit to a strap or belt so you don’t have to hold it in your hand while you go. But just because it’s rugged doesn’t mean it’s not stylish with two models featuring alpine white and slate black with canary yellow or mandarin orange highlights.
On the inside, the MOTOACTV W450 offers a wealth of useful features including the Mayo Clinic In Touch Software which can help you determine if the rash on your leg is poison ivy and what you should do about it. It houses a built-in 1.3MegaPixel camera with 8x optical zoom for snapping quick photos of the local flora and fauna as you go. You can also capture quick videos with the camera and play them back on the 128x160 pixel 65K color display.
With quad band connectivity you’re almost guaranteed to have a connection no matter how remote of a location you’re visiting. Since the unit might be mounted to your belt or a strap on your backpack it also offers Bluetooth connectivity so you can couple it with a remote device for crystal clear sound while keeping your hands free for finding that next handhold in the sheer rock face you’re climbing.
The MOTOACTV W450 also features a built-in MP3 player and microSD card slot with support for cards up to 2GB so you won’t need to change cards half way up the mountain and risk losing one of them. Its quick navigation interface gives one-touch access to music, photos and more thanks to a dedicated t-zones key which connects to T-Mobile for ringtones, wallpapers and more.
The phone also features web browsing, SMS, MMS and Java as well as standard productivity software like a calendar, calculator and a currency converter.
The MOTOACTV W450 is available through T-Mobile shops and online at http://www.t-mobile.com. Pricing was not available at press time.
