Magellan recently announced the release of their new 4350 model, which is aimed at simplifying the user experience and lowering driver distraction during use.
With Magellan’s new OneTouch system your favorite information is at the tip of your finger. Destinations, searches and more are just one touch away with the Magellan Maestro 4350.
In order to set up the OneTouch interface you simply define your favorite spots, which might include banks, restaurants and more. After having defined the preferred places, when you click the interface the system will find the fastest route to the nearest branch or point you in the right direction. Additionally, the Magellan Maestro 4350 OneTouch interface also gives quick access to applications to play music, phone someone or find an address.
Magellan has also combined their standard Point of Interest (POI) database with their Magellan-exclusive AAA TourBook guide which contains piles of travel information. That means that one simple search will comb through both resources giving you all the information you’ll need in one clean tabbed interface.
Other features of the Magellan Maestro 4350 include:
• 3D landmarks to give drivers visual cues for maneuvers and destinations.
• Map information is built as layers with the most-often-used information given prominent position for easy access.
• Intuitive, context-driven touch zones for a completely interactive map screen.
• New address book with smart address summary that lets users save complete itineraries.
• Simple data entry on one of the largest keyboards available and unique QuickSpell functionality.
The Magellan Maestro 4350 also includes an enhanced pedestrian mode to help you navigate on foot and adjust your routes or save them. It updates arrival time based on speed and distance covered. It even includes voice-prompted guidance and with the built-in music, photo and video player it can help lighten the load and combine all of those items into one unit.
The Maestro 4350 OneTouch ships with a windshield mount and cradle, a cigarette lighter adapter, protective pouch, A/C power adapter, USB data cable and an adhesive disk for dash mounting and can be purchased online at http://www.magellangps.com/.
It's the question on everyone's mind: will you (or have you already) picked up the new 3G iPhone?
